Shoe Size Chart Men: EU, US & UK Conversion, Men to Women

There is more to finding the perfect men’s shoes than just knowing about the right length. There are width considerations and even variation in sizing depending on the standard used by the manufacturer or the country where you’re actually buying from. There is no one sizing standard for shoes, and even for men’s shoes at that. Different countries tend to adopt different sizing, even then, each shoe manufacturer may also use their own sizing metrics which makes things even more confusing and complicated. In terms of shoe sizing, the most widely used are the US, UK and European standards.

In terms of men’s and women’s shoes, the main difference is on both the length and the width of the footwear. Men’s shoes are generally bigger by 1.5 than women’s.  If you’re a women’s size 7, for example, you’d be a size 5.5 in men’s size. For the width, men’s shoe sizes are built to be wider in general from women’s shoes from the forefoot and toe measurement to the sole and heel area.

In the guide below, we’ve gathered the most relevant information you’ll need to make it easier to convert shoe sizes from country to country, from men and women, fast and accurately.

European Shoe Size Conversion Men

In general, European shoe sizes do not separate sizes for children and adults. Instead, looking at the sizes, there is one end for smaller shoe sizes that kids often use, while on the other end are larger shoe sizes worn by an adult male.
Often times, European shoe sizes also have the same length for men and women or the unisex type compared to the US standard which clearly separates men, women and children’s shoe sizes. There is also no difference between UK women shoe and UK men sizes. In the EU and UK shoe sizing standards, the color, and details often identify whether the footwear is for male or female.

EU mens sizes start with a size 32 which translates to 7 ⅔ inches and a size 0 in the UK sizing. Europeans sizing can extend up to a size 50, which measures 12 ⅔ inches with half sizes also provided in between. The easiest way to convert a UK men’s shoe size to EU size is to add 32 to your existing UK size.

If you are wearing a UK mens size 2, for example, then in EU terms, your size will be approximately 32 in Euro. This is however estimates as actual sizes could still vary depending on the shoe manufacturer.
